Services for Survival

SERVICES FOR SURVIVAL is another component of the FIRST MILE PROJECT. It involves the setting up of a Centre for a Wilderness Retrieval System in the Belum Temengor Forest Reserve. The keyword in this project is again EMPOWERMENT of the Orang Asal. This project is being run in close cooperation with the  Department of Emergency Medicine of the School of Medical Sciences, USM.

We recently had a meeting with Dr Shaikh Farid from the Department of Emergency Medicine as well as with the Student Volunteer Group of USM regarding this project. Our first priority is to train up to 10 Orang Asal youth in Basic First Aid followed by the setting up of the First Aid Station in RPS Air Banun This project will be headed by En Uda Goying, an Orang Asal elder from RPS Air Banun as well as PM Wan Asim from BRAINetwork and Dr Shaikh Farid from the Department of Emergency Medicine.
