BRAINetwork goes to India

Prof Dr Zalina, the coordinator of BRAINetwork was invited as an external examiner for the Phase I, Stage 1 examination of the Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC). The first phase of 2 ½ years (5 semesters) is conducted in the Manipal Campus in India while the second phase of 5 semesters (2½ years) is at the Melaka Campus, Malaysia.

The exams were held from 16th February until 20th February 2014 in Manipal, which is a university town, located in the state of Karnataka, India. It is in the hinterland of the Malabar Coast of south west India, about 8 km east the Arabian Sea.

Prof Zalina was also invited to give an examiner’s talk to the faculty of the Melaka Manipal Medical College. The talk on “Learning with the Brain in Mind” was given in the brand new building of MMMC. The talk also served to open up avenues of possible research collaboration in both fundamental and translational neurosciences.
